Within this vibrant and mission-driven community, the role of Catering Manager plays a crucial part in enhancing the overall resident and guest experience by managing catering operations for events and daily dining services. This full-time position requires a proactive leader who can orchestrate event catering from start to finish, ensuring customer satisfaction and seamless service. The Catering Manager collaborates closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, developing customized menus in partnership with the culinary team and Executive Chef. Beyond the culinary aspect, the role involves supervising and scheduling catering and wait staff, managing event logistics, monitoring budget and expenses, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and staying informed about industry trends to elevate the catering offerings.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs
  • Capacity for prolonged walking or standing
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proven experience in managing catering events
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years experience in catering or food and beverage management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer relationship management aptitude
  • Outstanding multitasking and organizational ability
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • Valid ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain

Job Duties

  • Meet with clients to understand event goals and propose tailored food and beverage options
  • Collaborate with culinary team and Executive Chef to design customized menus
  • Manage training and supervise catering and wait staff
  • Create staff schedules for events and assign tasks
  • Coordinate event setups, seating arrangements, and equipment to meet venue standards and banquet event order requirements
  • Track catering expenses and monitor food and labor costs
  • Enforce workplace, food safety, and hygiene regulations including ServSafe and HACCP programs
  • Stay updated on catering trends, displays, and menu items
