Brookfield Zoo is hiring for the Food Service Cook - Catering position, reporting to the Kitchen Manager(s), Sous Chef(s), and Executive Chef. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about food preparation in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. The position is integral to supporting catering prep for both the back of house and the service lines during daily operations. Responsibilities include meeting food service standards in quick service, food quality, food safety, merchandising, and guest service. Candidates will be expected to participate in safety audits, such as monitoring food temperatures and rotation, while maintaining compliance with food handling regulations and hygiene standards.

In addition to food preparation tasks, the role requires the Food Service Cook to maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to company policies and standards, such as SSAFETY protocols. A vital component of the job is teamwork, requiring proactive support across operational roles and responding to guest feedback effectively to prevent recurring issues. The position demands flexibility with regard to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina for standing extended periods and lifting boxes weighing between 10-35 pounds is essential.
