Currently, American Dining Creations is seeking dedicated Catering Event Staff in Midvale, Utah. This role offers part-time employment with a pay rate of $17 per hour. Candidates must be available on Mondays and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with additional hours potentially available, including occasional evening on-call support for events. The Catering Event Staff plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service through the preparation, transportation, and execution of catering events. Daily responsibilities include attentively addressing guest and customer needs while maintaining clear and effective communication within the team. This role encompasses a variety of tasks such as food preparation, service, organization of supplies, set-up, maintenance throughout events, and the breakdown process upon completion. Staff members are expected to uphold a professional and hospitable demeanor at all times while managing guest needs promptly and efficiently.
The successful candidate will actively contribute to ensuring the smooth operation of catering events by setting up dining and event areas according to the catering manager’s specifications, ensuring all tableware, place settings, and serving pieces are clean and ready, performing food preparation duties like washing and cutting produce, seasoning and slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads. They will also be responsible for the logistics involved in loading and unloading food and supplies, accurately setting up tabletop place settings, and properly cleaning and storing equipment after events. This position requires a high level of reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. Additionally, candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling heavy carts, and maintaining the stamina to stand and walk throughout the entire shift. Job Requirements
- Must be available Mondays and Fridays from 8:00am to 3:00pm
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, push and pull heavy catering carts
- Must be reliable and organized
- Must follow dress code guidelines
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs for entire scheduled shift
- Some availability for occasional evening on-call event support
- Prior experience in catering or food service preferred
Job Qualifications
- Prior work history in catering, food preparation, food service, and customer service preferred
- Knowledge of or ability to learn current food health and safety regulations
- Reliability and ability to work well in fast-paced environments
- Organized and efficient with strong communication skills
- Ability to follow dress-code guidelines reflecting professionalism and competence
- Physical ability to lift 50lbs, push and pull heavy carts, bend, climb stairs, stand and walk for entire scheduled shift
Job Duties
- Setting up dining and event areas as per the catering manager's instructions
- Ensuring all tableware, place settings, serving pieces and decor are cleaned and available before each catering event
- Performing food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, cutting produce, seasoning, slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads
- Loading and unloading food, tableware, and catering supplies on and off catering vehicles and carts
- Accurately setting up tabletop place settings including utensils, glasses, plates, etc.
- Appropriately cleaning and storing catering equipment including chafing dishes, tableware, and platters after each event
- Answering guests' catering-related questions during events and addressing concerns or requests
- Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
