The Catering Event Staff role at American Dining Creations based in Columbia, Missouri, involves a vital part in fulfilling the company's mission to provide exceptional customer service at catering events. Employees in this position support the preparation, transportation, and execution of catering functions with attention to detail and guest satisfaction. Their daily activities include food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, slicing, and seasoning, as well as setting up dining and event areas in accordance with the catering manager’s instructions. This hands-on role requires individuals to efficiently load and unload catering supplies, set tabletop place settings, and maintain cleanliness and order by properly cleaning and storing catering equipment post-event.
The role demands a professional and hospitable demeanor as Catering Event Staff also interact directly with guests, address inquiries, and ensure concerns or requests are handled promptly during events. Reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential attributes for success in this position. Physically, this role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull heavy carts, and spend the duration of shifts standing, walking, and climbing stairs.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in catering or food service preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow safety and food handling regulations
- Available to work flexible shifts including weekends and evenings
- Reliable transportation to and from work location
Job Qualifications
- Prior work history in catering, food preparation, food service, or customer service preferred
- Knowledgeable or able to learn current food health and safety regulations
- Reliable and able to work well in fast-paced environments
- Organized, efficient, and strong communication skills
- Able to follow dress-code guidelines reflecting professionalism and competence
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds, push and pull heavy carts, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for entire scheduled shifts
Job Duties
- Setting up dining and event areas as per the catering manager's instructions
- Ensuring all tableware, place settings, serving pieces and decor are cleaned and available before each catering event
- Performing food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, cutting produce, seasoning, slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads
- Loading and unloading food, tableware, and catering supplies on and off catering vehicles and carts
- Accurately setting up tabletop place settings including utensils, glasses, plates etc
- Appropriately cleaning and storing catering equipment including chafing dishes, tableware, and platters after each catering event
- Answering guests' catering-related questions during events and addressing concerns or requests
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
