Job Description
Hyatt is a globally recognized hospitality company that believes deeply in the power of belonging, making every individual feel at home regardless of where they are in the world. Known for its commitment to exceptional service and memorable guest experiences, Hyatt operates a wide portfolio of hotels and resorts across the globe. They emphasize the importance of care in their work culture, making hospitality a meaningful career choice rather than just a job. The Hyatt Regency DFW, located conveniently across from Terminal C of the Dallas Fort Worth Airport, is an impressive property featuring 811 guestrooms and 92,000 square feet of function space, designed to accommodate a wide range of events from corporate meetings to social celebrations.
The role of Catering Event Sales Manager at Hyatt Regency DFW is a vital position within the Events Team. This on-property role involves managing the sales of banquet food, beverages, and meeting room rentals while also coordinating menu planning and setting detailed agendas in collaboration with hotel meeting services. The manager’s primary function is to foster business development by building and maintaining strong customer relationships and providing top-notch service before, during, and after events. This involves thorough contract reviews, facilitating communication among all relevant hotel staff, and ensuring every event runs smoothly and successfully.
The Catering Event Sales Manager hosts hotel tours, participates in and sometimes leads event meetings, and works closely with both sales and events staff to deliver seamless experiences for clients. This role also requires close collaboration with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff to maintain organization and efficiency. Key qualities of a successful candidate include a genuine desire to meet the needs of guests and clients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, along with refined verbal and written communication skills and mastery of general computer applications. Detail-oriented organizational skills are essential, as is the flexibility to work varied schedules to meet business demands.
Hyatt values career growth and personal development, encouraging colleagues to explore new roles, different brands, and international opportunities within the company. This supportive environment fosters curiosity and continuous learning that helps individuals grow professionally and personally. Employees also enjoy a wide range of benefits and perks, such as medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, complimentary on-site parking, colleague meals during shifts, 401k plans with company match, discounted and complimentary accommodations worldwide, paid holidays, sick time, vacation, and personal development reimbursements. With Hyatt, employees are part of a global family where every role matters, every career is nurtured, and every day presents new opportunities to make travel more human and heartfelt.
