Established in 1937, Sheraton has grown into a respected name in the hotel and event management industry, serving guests and clients across more than 400 communities worldwide. As part of Marriott International, Sheraton benefits from a rich blend of culture, talent, and experience, fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and associates are empowered to do their best work. Sheraton Hotels & Resorts prides itself on being "The World’s Gathering Place," emphasizing welcoming, connecting, and delivering engaging experiences to guests and customers alike.
The Event Manager role located at 1500 Epcot Resorts Blvd, Lake Buena Vista, Florida, offers an exciting opportunity to join this vibrant team. This full-time management position provides a competitive annual salary range of $61,000 to $83,000 with bonus eligibility, reflecting the importance and responsibility of the role. The position is inherently collaborative, requiring close coordination with the Sales department, various property teams, and the customer to ensure premium service quality across all event stages 1pre-event, event, and post-event. The successful candidate will primarily handle events of average complexity, managing logistics, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless transitions from sales through service and back to sales.
The Event Manager's responsibilities include preparing detailed event documentation, managing group room blocks and meeting spaces, identifying and solving operational challenges, and leveraging current trends in event management and design. This role acts as the crucial liaison between field sales staff and customers, guiding all phases of the event process and contributing to upselling opportunities to maximize property revenues. Superior customer service is a cornerstone of this role, from initial greeting during events to meticulous handling of billing and post-event follow-ups. The candidate will oversee customer experiences to guarantee satisfaction and proactively address any guest problems or complaints with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Leadership and team management are key elements of the role. The Event Manager will conduct pre- and post-event meetings to communicate group needs, facilitate internal meetings such as Banquet Event Order reviews, and foster employee empowerment to uphold excellent customer service standards. In collaboration with Sales and Marketing, the position contributes to sales forecasting, up-selling of products and services, and overall event revenue generation.
This role also encompasses human resource activities, including reviewing guest satisfaction feedback, observing employee service standards, providing constructive feedback, and assisting with corrective action plans. The Event Manager is expected to take initiative in enhancing service performance and to collaborate with both property staff and customers in addressing operational challenges.
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts welcomes applicants who are team players eager to make a meaningful impact in the hospitality industry. Joining Sheraton means becoming part of a global community dedicated to inclusivity, unparalleled service, and continuous improvement, making it an ideal workplace for professionals passionate about event management and customer service excellence.
