The role of Catering Director for Potential New Business based in Tallahassee, FL, is a critical position focused on managing the catering and events operations to ensure exceptional client satisfaction and business growth. This role involves leading a dedicated team of catering staff while also developing and maintaining strong client relationships to drive event success. The Catering Director is responsible for coordinating all aspects of catering events, both internal and external, from planning and menu development to execution and cleanup. This position requires hands-on leadership and involvement in recruiting, training, and scheduling staff to maintain high standards of service and quality. Additionally, the Catering Director oversees operational controls, such as labor and food cost management, to ensure financial performance aligns with company targets.

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts, along with a minimum of five years' experience in the hospitality industry, including at least two years in a management role, preferably in catering management. The ability to effectively manage and evaluate menus, pricing contracts, staffing, and event logistics is essential. Candidates must demonstrate capability in supervising food preparation, service, and event cleanup with an eye for detail and quality. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality or culinary arts

  • Proven experience in booking, selecting and costing menu items, pricing contracts, and resourcing temporary help and equipment

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and oversees internal and external catering events
  • Develops and maintains the catering marketing plan including a comprehensive event planning service to clients and detailed menu development
  • Hires, trains, and schedules catering staff, and actively involved in the development of existing catering staff in-service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures successful operations of catering functions including labor cost control, foods cost control and preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and cleanup of all events
