The Catering Coordinator works under the general supervision and in close collaboration with the Cafeteria Manager. The purpose of this role is to create, coordinate, and provide professional catering services for special parties and events tailored for patients, personnel, and visitors.
In this role, the Catering Coordinator is entrusted with organizing personalized catering solutions that adhere to established policies, departmental standards of quality, sanitation, safety, and presentation. The coordinator actively engages in menu planning, researching, and introducing new food programs such as deli meat selections and yogurt machine offerings to enhance the cafeteria's food service.
A key part of the role involves preparing and delivering a variety of catered food items including relish trays, deli platters, and sandwiches for special events, while strictly following food handling and safety regulations like temperature control to keep hot foods above 140 degrees Fahrenheit and cold foods below 41 degrees Fahrenheit. The Catering Coordinator also handles logistics such as equipment and food delivery to multiple locations within the hospital setting, including conference rooms, offices, and outdoor venues.
This position requires effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide orientation and training to staff assisting with event delivery, ensuring a smooth and successful catering experience.
