Job Description

The hiring establishment is a large, high-volume venue known for hosting a wide range of events, including stadium-wide events, special events, and home games. It operates with a focus on maintaining high standards in banquet and event setup, execution, and guest service operations. This venue is committed to delivering exceptional experiences to clients and guests by ensuring that all event spaces are meticulously prepared and maintained, and that team members work seamlessly to support successful events. The company fosters a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that accommodates indoor and outdoor events across all seasons, emphasizing safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency throughout.

This role is for a Banquet Setup Specialist who plays a crucial part in the preparation and maintenance of event spaces within the venue. The specialist is responsible for setting up meeting rooms and function areas by arranging tables, chairs, linens, stage setups, and other requested items according to management standards and banquet event orders. A strong knowledge of banquet configurations and proper equipment usage is essential to ensure that every event space meets the precise specifications required for smooth event execution. This includes not just setup but also teardown and resetting rooms to their original state following events.

In addition to physical setup duties, the position requires maintaining banquet equipment for cleanliness, repair needs, and proper storage. The specialist keeps assigned work areas, service corridors, and storage spaces clean, organized, and free from obstructions to promote safety and efficiency. Another important aspect of the role is conducting inventory management and administrative reporting by maintaining accurate monthly inventory reports of banquet equipment and supplies, which supports operational success and resource tracking.

The Banquet Setup Specialist also actively participates as a team member during events by assisting with food and beverage service tasks such as water pours, coffee service, and ice deliveries. This cooperative team approach extends to supporting waitstaff and operations teams during special events to uphold high standards of customer service. Acting as a liaison with the stadium conversion team, attending relevant meetings, and helping supervise, train, and motivate banquet operations staff further demonstrate the collaborative and leadership components of this position.

This position demands availability for all home games, stadium-wide events, and other special events. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings with variable weather and noise conditions. The specialist’s work schedule involves extended hours, flexible shifts, early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, requiring adaptability and stamina.

Overall, this role is ideal for an experienced professional with a minimum of five years of banquet setup experience in large venues, strong independent work skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Physical capability to handle demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical activities like bending and pushing is vital. The candidate must excel in communication and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications to manage administrative duties effectively. Experience with MICROS or similar systems is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate’s efficiency in event operations management.
