The role of Catering Coordinator at McAlister's Deli is a pivotal position within the restaurant's operations. The Catering Coordinator is responsible for managing all facets of catering services, from initial sales to client retention and event execution. This role demands a professional, organized individual with excellent communication skills and a polished, outgoing presence who can confidently represent the McAlister's brand both inside the restaurant and within the wider community. The Catering Coordinator will collaborate closely with the General Manager and other team members to ensure seamless catering events that exceed guest expectations. Key responsibilities include maintaining company catering systems, developing staff through training, generating new business opportunities, and contributing positively to the overall team culture. Success in this role is measured by meeting or surpassing sales targets, providing exceptional guest experiences, and upholding McAlister's high standards of quality and service. Through strong leadership and interpersonal skills, the Catering Coordinator will help strengthen McAlister's position as a welcoming host for hundreds of events daily while supporting a fun and inclusive work environment that champions innovation and guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in the casual restaurant industry is required
  • Experience in hotel catering, coffee service, banquet operations, assistant management, food production, or bartending is a plus
  • High school diploma or GED, preferred
  • Servsafe license preferred or able to obtain a State-approved license and maintain per State mandates
  • Available Monday-Friday 9-3 pm with ability to work flexible hours including early mornings for breakfast catering or weekends/evenings for events
  • Reliable personal transportation, valid license and insurance, and ability to pass a background check
  • Strong knowledge of team leadership and developing goals and action plans for growth
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow uniform standards
  • Remain calm in a fast-paced atmosphere and demonstrate organization, attention to detail, and urgency
  • Display positive and outwardly friendly attitude towards guests
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to withstand physical demands of a restaurant environment

Job Qualifications
