This role is a part-time, onsite position located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, within the Dining & Events segment. The Catering Coordinator position at Science Museum Oklahoma, staffed by Lancer Hospitality professionals, is pivotal in orchestrating flawless catering event execution. This role demands an individual who exhibits excellent organizational abilities, customer service acumen, and multitasking skills in a lively work environment. The Catering Coordinator will work closely with clients to customize orders, align event details with client expectations, and serve as the main contact to resolve inquiries. Responsibilities extend to communicating with culinary teams and vendors to schedule deliveries and pick-ups and ensure accurate preparation, timely delivery, and superior presentation of catered food. Additionally, the coordinator manages event logistics, including setup and teardown operations, maintaining a master calendar of events to ensure deadlines are met, and handling inventories of supplies and equipment. On-site event support is also a critical aspect of the role, requiring readiness to address last-minute issues efficiently to guarantee event success and customer satisfaction. The compensation for this position is $18.00 per hour, offering competitive pay with ample opportunity to grow within the catering and events industry. Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in catering food and beverage events or related field
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Safe Food Handler’s Certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of catering events from start to finish including logistics setup and teardown
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients addressing inquiries customizing orders and ensuring all event details align with client expectations
  • Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules for catering orders event rentals and any additional materials required
  • Work with the culinary and operations teams to ensure all orders are prepared accurately and delivered on time
  • Maintain a master calendar of events and deadlines attending pre-event meetings and communicating event details to all relevant parties
  • Liaise with external vendors to arrange equipment rentals and other necessary services to support successful event execution
  • Provide on-site assistance during events ensuring seamless execution and promptly addressing any last-minute issues
