Job Description

Constellation is a renowned dining and events company that specializes in delivering exceptional business dining and catering experiences across the United States. Operating as part of Elior North America, Constellation is dedicated to creating memorable moments through food and hospitality, developing strong connections in retail spaces, office buildings, and various event venues. Their team focuses on providing superior service tailored to the unique needs of their clients, combining quality cuisine with exceptional customer care. As a part of Elior North America, an equal opportunity employer, Constellation values diversity, inclusivity, and growth opportunities for all employees, fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment. The company emphasizes skill development and career advancement for its team members, ensuring that each individual can thrive and build a fulfilling career within the organization or beyond.

The role of Catering Attendant within Constellation in Washington, DC, offers a full-time opportunity for motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service in the dining and events segment. Compensation for this position is competitive, with a rate of $25 per hour. As a Catering Attendant, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks designed to maintain and enhance the quality of food service and event execution. You will be involved in daily pantry kitchen duties such as stocking essential items like napkins, plates, and utensils, cleaning and organizing counters and refrigerators, and managing coffee machines and water fountains to ensure they are fully stocked and clean.

Beyond kitchen duties, you will play a crucial role in conference room setup, from preparing and arranging food and beverage stations to ensuring that all event orders and room layouts are reviewed and adhered to. During events, you will actively maintain food and beverage stations, discreetly clear away used dishes, and keep the environment tidy and inviting. After events, breaking down food stations, cleaning, sanitizing, and restoring rooms to their standard setups will be essential parts of your responsibilities.

Food handling and presentation are vital to this role. You will ensure that food is properly replated, heated to the correct temperatures, and served with careful attention to safety and presentation standards. Assembling snack spreads, labeling dietary items, and maintaining neat and attractive food displays are also part of your daily work.

End-of-shift tasks include a comprehensive restock of all pantries, reporting supply needs, cleaning equipment, and emptying trash and recycling bins. This role requires teamwork, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and at least one year of experience in banquet or wait staff roles. The job also involves rotational side-work assignments covering tasks both on the floor—such as restocking water and mints—and behind the scenes in kitchen and storage areas, including organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and handling inventory.

Working as a Catering Attendant at Constellation means contributing to a team devoted to top-tier customer service and hospitality excellence. The role provides a unique opportunity to engage in various aspects of food service and event support, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy dynamic work environments and take pride in sustaining food quality and customer satisfaction. Constellation offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage for full-time employees, along with various other perks such as commuter benefits, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off, supporting both the well-being and professional growth of its team members.
