Job Requirements

  • AA degree or higher in communication or marketing or equivalent experience
  • minimum 1 year hospitality sales experience
  • minimum 2 years event coordinating experience
  • experience in restaurant and catering guest satisfaction
  • strong customer service and problem resolution skills
  • ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • proficiency with sales tools and social media
  • mathematical competency including budgeting and profit/loss
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • detail oriented and organized

Job Qualifications

  • AA degree or higher in communication or marketing or equivalent experience
  • 1 plus years of hospitality sales experience
  • 2 plus years of event coordinating experience
  • demonstrated experience working in restaurants and catering
  • experience as an event coordinator
  • strong customer service skills
  • problem resolution skills
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalents and social media platforms
  • mathematical skills including budgeting and profit/loss concepts
  • ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • detail-oriented and organized

Job Duties

  • generate group sales and marketing plan to achieve revenue goals
  • prospect for new group sales leads through cold calls and online research
  • network to build relationships with clients
  • plan, coordinate, and manage private events and meeting functions
  • create and customize contracts, banquet event orders, and event itineraries
  • oversee event logistics staying within budget
  • maintain updated image libraries on brand
  • schedule and conduct event tours
  • use Caterease software for event planning
  • coordinate wedding tastings and orders
  • maintain client and vendor relationships
  • manage hotel-hosted events and resolve guest service issues
  • track information and provide management reports
  • oversee catering and banquet supplies and purchasing
  • ensure appropriate staffing levels for events
  • collaborate with revenue management on group pickup and revenue strategy
  • attend management meetings and support initiatives
  • communicate important matters to general manager
  • represent hotel positively to guests and public
