Job Description
Geyserville Inn and Grille is a well-established hotel, bar, and restaurant located in the scenic Alexander Valley, just 30 minutes north of Santa Rosa, California. Owned and operated by the same family for over 20 years, the inn prides itself on creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for both guests and employees. The team at Geyserville Inn values a family-oriented environment where every staff member feels like a part of the extended family. This long-standing establishment has built a reputation for exceptional service, quality hospitality, and a warm, inviting ambiance that attracts visitors from near and far.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and dedicated Catering & Sales Manager to join the Geyserville Inn team. This on-site role involves the sales, planning, coordination, and management of all private events and meeting functions held at the hotel. The Catering & Sales Manager will work closely with the revenue management team as well as hotel and restaurant management to develop and implement effective strategies to grow revenue and improve service delivery. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys engaging with clients, managing diverse events, and supporting the broader hotel operations. This role also encompasses providing coverage for food and beverage management on days off and assisting across departments to maintain the high standards the inn is known for. With a compensation package starting at $77,000 per year plus potential bonuses, this position provides an excellent opportunity for career growth in hospitality management.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating definitive group sales and marketing plans geared toward achieving and exceeding departmental revenue goals. You will actively prospect for new leads through cold calls and online research, network to build relationships with clients, and oversee every aspect of event execution from initial planning to successful completion. Your duties will include creating and customizing contracts, banquet event orders, wedding timelines, and coordinating food and beverage orders with clients and internal teams. The position requires proficient use of event planning software like Caterease and demands excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Furthermore, the Catering & Sales Manager will provide direct oversight during hotel-hosted events to ensure guest satisfaction and seamless operations, maintaining strong client and vendor relationships throughout each event. This role involves collaboration with numerous stakeholders including management teams, vendors, and clients to ensure all logistics are addressed within budgetary constraints. You will also be expected to track data, generate management reports, and contribute insight and suggestions to enhance revenue and team performance. The role requires flexibility and commitment, including working nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands. If you are passionate about hospitality, enjoy working in a vibrant and supportive environment, and possess a strong customer service mindset, this exciting opportunity at Geyserville Inn could be the perfect next step in your career.
