Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • three to five years related experience in catering or food and beverage coordination preferred
  • one to three years experience supervising a team of managers or in a supervisory role required
  • current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification required
  • computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
  • knowledge of county regulations
  • ability to understand and implement BSRG dining standards
  • must have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • valid driver's license required

Job Qualifications

  • Three to five years related experience in catering or food and beverage coordination preferred

  • ability to understand standardized recipe format
  • ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • effective verbal communication skills
  • ability to calculate food costs, menu pricing, discounts, percentages, inventory, labor standards, and volume
  • understanding of profit and loss statements and ability to present capital projects
  • planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, and employee development skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to respond to staff and guest needs
  • attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
  • ability to make independent decisions based on sound judgment

Job Duties

  • Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support company goals
  • ensure superior standards of dependability, hospitality, and quality are met or exceeded
  • oversee marketing and sales, budget, staff management, event supervision, catering inventory, and invoice payment
  • manage all stages of catering events including ceremonies, weddings, and other public events
  • respond to inquiries and arrange sales meetings and tours, plan and schedule events, create banquet event orders and keep accurate event records, track event sales and budget, provide event surveys and track results
  • maintain effective communication among team members regarding catering and event operations, safety, and employee concerns
  • interview, hire, train, schedule, and manage event team members and event coordinator
  • work directly with customers during events to ensure superior standards and assist the Food and Beverage Team
  • provide full coordination for the host on the day of the event
  • perform other assigned duties and responsibilities
