Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two years of related experience in a high-volume environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous club experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and correspondence
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word

  • Experience with high-end clients preferred

Job Duties

  • Promotes, advertises and markets the club's social event facilities and capabilities to all members
  • Helps member clients arrange banquets, luncheons, meetings, weddings, dances and other social events
  • obtains pertinent information needed for guest planning
  • Provides guest tours and offers suggestions to sell the club's facilities
  • Works with the Chef to determine selling prices, menus and details for catered events
  • Oversees the development of contracts
  • Suggests and helps guests plan menus with culinary personnel
  • Coordinates event planning with production, serving and housekeeping staffs
  • Arranges for printing menus, procuring decorations, entertainment and special requests
  • Inspects finished arrangements and oversees greeting and serving of guests
  • Checks function sheets against room set-up
  • oversees personnel scheduling for events and supervises service personnel
  • Reviews scheduling of banquet staff and leads employee meetings
  • Handles client complaints promptly
  • Maintains client files and schedules calls or visits
  • Helps develop catering budgets and reviews financial reports
  • Assists guests with parking, entertainment, decorations, audio/visual and other event needs
  • Represents members on applicable club committees
  • Obtains necessary permits for special events
  • Arranges prompt payment for events
  • Critiques functions to implement improvements
  • Attends management meetings to review policies and procedures
  • Tracks new food service and catering trends
  • Ensures security of valuables during events
  • Assumes responsibility of manager on duty when necessary
  • Ensures housekeeping and energy conservation procedures
  • Performs special projects as assigned
  • Participates in committee meetings regarding club events involving food and beverage needs
