Job Description

Wooden Paddle is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant and catering company that has been delighting guests since its inception in 2013. With over a decade of experience, this 13-year-young establishment has carved out a unique niche in the hospitality industry by creating Super Fun Dining Experiences that guests remember and return for. The company prides itself on serving shareable, wood-fired comfort foods paired with artsy cocktails and an energetic, inviting atmosphere. At Wooden Paddle, the core mission revolves around delivering exceptional hospitality combined with top-notch food and drink, setting the stage for memorable guest interactions and events. The cultural vibe here is one of hustle and heart, with a team of scrappy go-getters who are passionate about their craft but maintain a warm, approachable, and down-to-earth attitude. Their overarching goal is ambitious: to hit 10 million good-time guest experiences by 2033, which speaks volumes about their commitment to scaling and excellence.

Currently, Wooden Paddle is seeking a Catering & Event Sales Manager to join their rapidly growing team. This full-time, on-site role is central to driving sales and managing the sales pipeline from initial client contact to successful event execution. The position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 per year, which includes commission pay based on booked events, providing uncapped earnings potential. The schedule typically consists of 5 days a week, working roughly 45 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, acknowledging the demands of the hospitality calendar. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on closing deals quickly, managing multiple sales opportunities simultaneously, and building long-lasting relationships with clients and vendors alike.

As the Catering & Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining lightning-fast communication with clients, ensuring no query goes unanswered and that each customer feels valued from first contact through to final payment. Beyond handling inquiries, you'll proactively seek out new business opportunities by engaging past clients, developing vendor relationships, and attending local community events. Your expertise will fill the calendar with confirmed bookings, making sure no date is left empty and every event is precisely managed. You will maintain an organized and up-to-date Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, logging every detail meticulously and handing off all event information flawlessly to the operations team to guarantee seamless event execution. Given the evolving nature of this role within a fast-growing business, adaptability and eagerness to innovate and improve processes are essential. Wooden Paddle supports growth from within and encourages team members to continually develop their skills with access to expert coaching and a culture that emphasizes leadership and accountability. If you're detail-oriented, driven, and passionate about hospitality sales, this opportunity offers an exciting career path with excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid time off, and many unique perks that cultivate a fun and rewarding work environment.
