Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of catering or hotel sales experience
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to manage event planning and execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and evenings as required
- Willingness to participate in professional development and industry networking events
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years of hotel catering experience or similar industry experience
- Proven track record of providing quality service
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of hotel, Westmont, and brand policies and procedures
- Familiarity with catering, food and beverage, and banquet operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent customer and associate relations skills
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems
- Good decision-making and influence abilities
Job Duties
- Solicit and book meetings and functions while maximizing banquet space to meet or exceed sales goals
- Utilize prospecting skills to consistently exceed catering revenue goals
- Report all catering activities to Director of Catering Sales or Director of Sales & Marketing
- Conduct site visits and client appointments to generate new group opportunities
- Negotiate and close new and repeat business contracts for catering and meetings
- Develop and execute territorial marketing strategies to capture revenue
- Provide detailed event orders and group resumes for all catering events booked
- Build and manage strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and community contacts
- Conduct site inspections and participate in industry events
- Use sales resources and administrative support effectively
