Role Overview: The position available is for a Retail Cashier and Customer Service Assistant. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the store and involves direct interaction with customers. The primary responsibilities include greeting customers upon their arrival, assisting them as needed throughout their shopping experience, and efficiently handling checkout transactions. Additionally, the role requires inputting job orders specifically for commercial and industrial clients, which demands attention to detail and accuracy. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with the expectation to work one or two Saturdays a month from 7 am to 12 noon. This schedule offers a structured yet flexible working environment.
This role requires a warm, friendly, and outgoing attitude, aimed at ensuring every customer feels welcomed and valued throughout their visit. Candidates must have prior cashier experience, including skills in money handling and cash drawer balancing, ensuring accuracy and trustworthiness at the point of sale. Self-motivation and organizational skills are crucial to manage daily tasks efficiently, alongside reliable transportation to maintain punctuality and attendance.
While proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Gmail is helpful to enhance the administrative aspects of the role, it is not mandatory, allowing candidates with basic computer skills to succeed. An added advantage is fluency in Spanish, which facilitates better communication with a diverse customer base, although this is not a strict requirement.
