The role of a Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member at Whole Foods Market involves a multifaceted position where the primary focus is on providing excellent customer service and support as part of the store's front-end operations. This position includes assisting customers during the checkout process by performing all cash register functions accurately and efficiently. Team Members also support the customer service desk, manage attractive and organized customer service displays, and help maintain a positive company image by ensuring courteous and friendly interactions with both customers and fellow Team Members. Standard Operating Procedures must be adhered to at all times to ensure regulatory compliance and company standards.
In addition to routine cashiering duties, Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Members may assist with training new employees, control customer flow to minimize wait times, and participate in company programs that promote Whole Foods Market's core values and goals. This role requires flexibility, as Team Members are expected to perform duties across the Customer Service and E-Commerce teams, including assigned shopper tasks and duties related to health and safety regulations, food safety, and regulatory compliance. The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $25.40 per hour, based on experience, and the work schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements
- No prior retail experience required
- ability to lift 50 pounds
- standing/walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
- ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and cold environments
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
- may require use of ladders

Job Duties
- Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
- upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
- follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
- uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
- cleans and stocks front end areas, including own register
- follows all cash handling procedures
- may assist with training of new cashier and cashier assistant team members
- assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
- proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
- arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, and ready to work
- provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers timely
- maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, stocking, and merchandising
- follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- performs assigned opening, mid, and closing duties
- immediately reports safety hazards
- performs other duties as assigned
- may be assigned shopper training and shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team
