Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • standing/walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks front end areas, including own register
  • follows all cash handling procedures
  • may assist with training of new cashier and cashier assistant team members
  • assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
  • proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
  • arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers timely
  • maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, stocking, and merchandising
  • follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs assigned opening, mid, and closing duties
  • immediately reports safety hazards
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • may be assigned shopper training and shopper tasks within the Customer Service Team
