Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED or equivalent
At least two years of on-the-job training or related experience
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and deal with problems as they arise
Ability to perform basic math skills including decimals and percents
Must be in good physical condition and able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
Able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, extend hands and arms in any direction
Able to remain upright and move about on foot for sustained periods
Willingness to work some after hours as needed or during emergencies
Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
Able to be exposed to indoor and outdoor elements and various hazards including chemical, electrical, mechanical, explosive, and radiant hazards

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent
At least two years of on-the-job training or three to five years' experience is desired
Knowledge of grocery business
Working knowledge of cash register and store equipment
Knowledge of modern office equipment including telephone communications, office systems and record keeping
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and deal with problems
Ability to perform basic math skills including decimals and percents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use tact and diplomacy and exude a positive image
Ability to communicate in languages other than English is helpful

Job Duties

Provide a high level of prompt and friendly customer service including greeting and responding to questions
Train and supervise student staff including cashiers and other workers
Oversee the packaging of bulk foods
Ensure accuracy and updates of IT retail system
Operate and oversee cash register/POS system ensuring all cashiers are aware of updates or changes
Open/close store on assigned days ensuring accuracy of reports and accounting
Receive product deliveries ensuring order and invoice accuracy
Maintain knowledge of weekly sale items and guide customers on product locations
Maintain excellent communication with store management team, student employees and customers
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
