Job Description
The Parks and Recreation Department at the Aquatic Center is a well-established division committed to providing exceptional recreational services and aquatic activities to the community. This department is dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and fun in a safe and welcoming environment. The Aquatic Center itself is a vital community asset, featuring swimming pools, waterslides, splash pads, and concession areas, all designed to offer both recreational enjoyment and educational water safety. The center offers various seasonal and daily passes, pool reservations, and organized courses aimed at encouraging participation among all age groups. The center operates year-round with a focus on community engagement, safety, and customer satisfaction, ensuring that each visitor has a positive experience while using the facilities.
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented part-time Cashier to join our team at the Aquatic Center. This position is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility’s entry management and financial processes. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing all working cash assigned for your shift, accurately collecting admission fees, and processing registrations for courses, pool reservations, and passes. The role requires an individual who is comfortable working some evenings and weekends to accommodate the center's hours of operation.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for many patrons, so excellent customer service skills are essential. Your duties will extend beyond handling money; you will keep accurate records of daily attendance, assist with basic reception duties such as answering phones and providing relevant information to guests, and operate the cash register with precision. The position also involves monitoring concession inventory, distributing goods, and maintaining cleanliness in both the office and concession areas.
Safety is paramount at the Aquatic Center, and the Cashier plays a key role in enforcing facility rules and regulations. Part of your responsibilities will include serving as a facility monitor on an as-needed basis in various areas including waterslides, splash pads, gates, and restrooms to ensure patrons adhere to safety guidelines. This role demands an individual who is alert, capable of responding quickly to emergency situations, and committed to upholding the center’s safety standards.
The job offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $10.89 to $12.32 and is classified as a part-time employment opportunity. This role not only offers the chance to work in a vibrant, community-focused environment but also to be part of a team dedicated to enhancing the recreational experiences of residents. It is an ideal position for individuals who enjoy working with the public, have a keen eye for detail, and are passionate about safety and customer service in a recreational setting. Training and staff meetings will be regularly scheduled to keep the team informed and equipped to deliver excellent service.
