Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience as a cashier
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Completion of ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain security clearance and comply with Drug Free Workplace policy
  • Pass necessary background and security checks
  • Attend required safety training and meetings
  • Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to comply with operational security and government property control policies
  • Ability to participate in regular safety and hazard assessments
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform cashier duties
  • Willingness to follow company policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • Must complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment.

Job Duties

  • Verify cash at beginning of shift
  • Operate cash register, receives cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services and records amounts received
  • Compute or re-compute bills, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due using adding machine or cash register, make change, cash checks and issue receipts or tickets to customers
  • Control, organize, monitor, and maintain cash levels in drawer
  • Prepare reports of transactions, read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand
  • Make credit card transactions and may be required to know value and features of items for which money is received
  • Give cash refunds or issue credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise, operate ticket-dispensing machine
  • Complete customer purchases by scanning merchandise or inputting price into register quickly and accurately
  • Ensure all items are input into cash registers and menu boards
  • Ensure facility opens 15 minutes prior to meal open
  • Practice good sanitation techniques
  • Ensure facility is secure at close of meal
  • Comply with energy conservation and recycling programs
  • Comply and follow appropriate Food Handlers Safety Components
  • Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training
  • Comply with all HACCP policies and procedures
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments
  • Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
  • Pass and maintain any required security clearance requirement and comply with Drug Free Workplace policy
  • Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures
  • Adhere to Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP)
  • Adhere to safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(es), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements
  • Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1
  • Other tasks as may be directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
