Job Description
The City of Farmers Branch Aquatics Center is a vital community facility dedicated to providing safe, enjoyable, and educational aquatic experiences to residents and visitors of all ages. Additionally, handling cash and performing accounting duties such as preparing daily deposits, printing transaction reports, balancing cash drawers, and securing money are integral to this position. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Successful completion of criminal background check
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol test
- Ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to attend mandatory meetings and in-service trainings
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, walk majority of workday, bend, stoop, and climb
- Willingness to work in outdoor weather conditions
- Classified as a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Punctual, courteous, and efficient with an outgoing personality
- Ability to work well with the public
- Basic ability to write simple sentences and recognize common words
- Intermediate ability to apply practical math including fractions, percentages, ratios, and measurement
- Ability to perform standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment
- Ability to follow detailed instructions with little room for deviation
Job Duties
- Perform administrative and clerical duties including answering phones, printing and copying documents, maintaining displays and information in Ticket Booth
- Provide staff and program support including preparing notices, distributing rosters and attendance sheets, preparing flyers, setting up and operating equipment, checking out and maintaining equipment, supporting special events
- Perform cash handling and accounting procedures including preparing daily deposits, printing transaction reports, performing daily opening and closing accounting procedures, balancing cash drawers, printing receipts, printing daily accounting summary records, securing money, receiving and processing payment transactions
- Perform facility maintenance and basic janitorial duties including cleaning tables, chairs, counters, picking up trash, maintaining restrooms
- Monitor Aquatics facility and patrons including responding to incidents and emergencies, conducting facility checks, enforcing facility policies and procedures, overseeing aquatic activities, opening and closing facility
- Provide excellent customer service including registering participants for special events, assisting with membership enrollment, responding to inquiries about facility and programs, member check-in, conducting facility tours, greeting all patrons
