Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year experience operating a cash register in food service or related environment
  • food handlers permit certification
  • strong communication skills
  • basic math proficiency
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • knowledge of food safety and local ordinances
  • ability to complete cashier reports and handle cash transactions accurately

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year experience operating a cash register in food service or related environment
  • certification with Food Handlers Permit by Texas Department of State Health Services or ANSI
  • ability to communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and visitors
  • proficiency in basic math and calculator use
  • knowledge of local food ordinances
  • team player with customer service focus
  • competency in cash handling and safety procedures

Job Duties

  • handle cash, credit, and other payment transactions accurately and efficiently
  • provide receipts and make change
  • prepare cashier's reports and deposit revenues following cash handling procedures
  • assist in retail food operation areas including food service, dining room, and equipment operation
  • maintain and update menu boards
  • stock and organize snack items
  • clean and organize service and equipment areas
  • comply with safety policies, including hazardous materials and emergency preparedness
  • maintain logs for doctors, volunteers, and meal tickets
  • process cash register transactions within cash handling guidelines
  • contribute ideas to improve department processes
  • participate in self-development and continuing education programs
