Job Description
Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a FORTUNE 100 home improvement company proud to serve millions of customers every week across more than 1,700 home improvement stores in the United States. With total fiscal year 2025 sales exceeding 86 billion dollars and employing approximately 300,000 associates, Lowe's is a leader in the retail home improvement industry. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's focuses not only on transforming houses into homes but also on strengthening the communities it serves. The company invests in programs that promote safe, affordable housing, enhance community spaces, develop future trade experts, and provide disaster relief. With a commitment to diversity and equal opportunity, Lowe's fosters an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates differences to build a stronger workforce and community.
As a Lowe's cashier, you play a crucial role in shaping a positive shopping experience for every customer. This role is more than handling transactions; it is about delivering fast, friendly, and professional service that leaves customers satisfied and eager to return. Your work helps Lowe's maintain its reputation as a customer-oriented retailer by offering seamless checkout processes and excellent service. While much of your time will be spent operating the register, the position offers variety where you may assist other departments, stock shelves, or collect carts. This flexibility makes the role ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging directly with people and thriving in a dynamic retail setting.
Lowe's provides support for employees through competitive pay, flexible schedules, and a multitude of benefits. Associates can prioritize their well-being with access to top-tier health insurance options and pursue personal growth through educational programs like tuition assistance. Financial security is reinforced via a company-matching 401(k) plan and an optional Employee Stock Purchase Program. Additionally, Lowe's encourages skill development with initiatives such as the Track to the Trades program, offering team members pathways to acquire valuable trade skills. Employees also benefit from a 10% associate discount, adding value to their membership in the Lowe's family. This role does not typically require travel, but occasional visits to meetings, training, or nearby stores may be necessary. Work conditions can vary by location, including both indoor and outdoor environments with varying climate exposure. Physical responsibilities include standing or sitting for long periods and assisting with lifting or moving items, following safety guidelines to ensure a healthy workplace.
This position is ideal for candidates with basic arithmetic and reading skills, comfortable computer use, and the ability to lift objects with or without accommodation. Experience in retail or customer service and bilingual skills are preferred but not required. Lowe’s actively encourages applications from bilingual candidates as well as military and veteran talent, further demonstrating their commitment to a diverse workforce. Join Lowe's as a cashier to be part of a top home improvement company that supports your career growth and offers meaningful work impacting communities and customers alike.
