Job Description

Lowe's Companies, Inc. is a leading FORTUNE 100 home improvement company that operates over 1,700 home improvement stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers across the United States. With approximately 300,000 associates and more than $83 billion in total fiscal year 2024 sales, Lowe's serves nearly 16 million customer transactions weekly. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's is committed to supporting the communities it serves through programs that promote safe and affordable housing, improve community spaces, develop the next generation of skilled trade experts, and provide disaster relief in times of need. As a company, Lowe's embraces diversity and is an equal opportunity employer, administering all personnel practices without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, age, ancestry, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other category protected by law.

The role of a Lowe's cashier is integral to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring every customer leaves the store satisfied. This position focuses on providing a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience, which includes accurately scanning and bagging items, managing cash registers, and handling payments and exchanges efficiently. Cashiers play a key role in positively representing Lowe's in the community by offering assistance with customer questions and supporting other store departments as needed. While most time is spent at the register, duties may also include helping to stock shelves, moving carts, and maintaining a clean and safe workstation.

Lowe's supports its associates not only through competitive pay and flexible scheduling but also offers a wide array of benefits designed to promote well-being and growth. Employees have access to top-tier health insurance options, a tuition assistance program, a company-matching 401(k) retirement plan, and an optional Employee Stock Purchase Program. Additionally, associates enjoy a 10% discount on purchases and have opportunities to learn new trade skills through the Track to the Trades program.

This role does not generally require travel but may occasionally involve trips for meetings, training sessions, or to support nearby stores. Working conditions vary by location and may involve exposure to a range of weather scenarios and consistent noise. Physical demands include the ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift items up to 75 pounds with proper techniques and equipment.

Lowe's values team players who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy helping customers solve problems. The company strongly encourages bilingual individuals, military personnel, and veterans to apply, reflecting its commitment to diversity, growth, and strong community ties.
