Job Description

Campus Dining at a major university in Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated Cashier to join their team on a casual/temporary basis for approximately 11 months with possible extension. This role reports to the Associate Director of Campus Dining and works closely under the supervision of Service Supervisors in a dynamic, fast-paced dining environment. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education training and experience
Read write and speak English
Demonstrated math skills to accurately reconcile cash and debit sales reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Google drives folders forms or similar productivity programs
Demonstrated detail-oriented and thorough work style
Effective verbal written and electronic communication skills
Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
Commitment to justice equity inclusion and diversity
Ability to handle high-volume high accountability confidential work environment with changing priorities

Job Duties

Processes customer sales transactions accurately and efficiently using Micros point-of-sale system handling both cash and debit payments
Counts and maintains opening cash float reconciles transactions at shift end deposits cash according to policies addresses discrepancies with supervisor
Restocks food and beverage products and supplies ensures beverage stations are clean fully stocked and set up for service prepares oatmeal and toppings refills ice replenishes water dispensers condiment stations and grab-and-go snacks
Performs general cleaning duties including sweeping floors addressing spills cleaning and sanitizing self-serve equipment and food display areas
Provides excellent customer service with positive and professional attitude assists with inquiries or special requests enforces store policies monitors for potential theft reports issues to management
Ensures safety of guests staff and facility by following proper safety procedures using equipment and signage identifying hazards and reporting concerns to supervisor
Provides hands-on guidance with Micros system restocking and cleaning tasks communicates questions or concerns to supervisor
