The role of Cashier at JCPenney is a vital position that directly influences the customer service and sales experience. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for maintaining checkout standards, assisting with Omnichannel operations, managing inventory recovery, and ensuring safety and shrink performance standards are met. The role goes beyond traditional cashier duties by involving you in various store operations that contribute to a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. You will greet and assist customers, promote company sales programs such as credit, rewards, gift cards, and Findmore, and actively engage with customers to resolve issues and enhance satisfaction. You will also partner with team members when necessary to ensure checkout is efficiently managed, handle returns and re-ticketing tasks accurately, and support merchandising efforts at checkout points.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or cashier experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to use mobile Point of Sale devices
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Greet and assist customers while providing excellent customer service

- Complete checkout processes including returns and re-ticketing
- Maintain signing and merchandising standards at all checkouts
- Stock and merchandise impulse fixtures and replenishment
- Call for assistance during busy checkout periods
- Utilize Point of Sale on Mobile Warrior devices for line management
- Assist with Omnichannel efforts as required
- Support recovery, put backs and fitting room maintenance
- Participate in annual inventory processes
- Support company shrink and safety initiatives
- Meet established performance standards consistently
