Job Requirements
- Able to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to preform these operations using units of American money
- Available to work any shift, holidays and weekends
- Ability to tolerate cigarette/cigar smoke and e-cigarette vapor
- Responds to visual and aural cues
- Ability to stand for 8 hours
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stoop, reach and bend as necessary
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest demands in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six months to one year of previous cashier experience preferred
- Literacy and fluency in Vietnamese or Chinese language a plus
- Good communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently
- Must adhere to uniform/appearance requirements
- Ability to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrah's Gulf Coast team members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds
Job Duties
- Greets and assists guest at the food and beverage outlet
- Received payment from the guest for food and beverage purchases in an accurate, prompt, courteous manner
- Adheres to established cash handling and internal control policies and procedures
- Responds promptly to guests' questions and directs concerns to the appropriate manager
- Performance as a team member with kitchen staff and leadership
- Maintains a clean workspace
- Protects company assets against theft, breakage, and waste
