The Customer Service Associate role is crucial to the company’s vision of delivering outstanding retail experiences. This role involves engaging with customers on the sales floor, ensuring the store environment remains lively and inviting, and delivering personalized service at the cash wrap. Associates are responsible for executing accurate register and POS transactions including sales, returns, and exchanges, while also maintaining visual standards and inventory accuracy.

In this position, you will manage customer expectations by providing clear communication about products, care instructions, maintenance, delivery timeframes, and ongoing promotions. The role also requires associates to suggest additional products to complement initial purchases, share information about in-store events and workshops, and foster lasting relationships by capturing customer contacts and promoting store services and credit options.

The ideal candidate enjoys closing sales, exceeds goals, thrives in an entrepreneurial and team environment, and is motivated to think innovatively to enhance customer experiences. Physical requirements include the ability to be mobile on the sales floor for prolonged periods, operate POS systems, and safely lift and move items up to 75 pounds. Full-time associates must have open availability, while part-time associates must be available for a minimum number of shifts with weekend coverage.

Williams-Sonoma offers a competitive compensation package with pay ranging from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, and geographic location. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Keep the store energy lively and upbeat for customers and teammates
  • engage multiple clients at the cash wrap and create a positive lasting impression by offering personalized service
  • accurately and efficiently perform register/POS transactions including sales, returns, exchanges
  • ensure accurate ringing and pricing of merchandise, use appropriate price overrides when necessary
  • manage all aspects of customer expectations by communicating product information, care, maintenance, timeframes and delivery
  • affirm client purchases and suggest additional merchandise
  • inform clients about relevant promotions
  • share information about products, in-store events and workshops
  • maintain visual standards and supplies of the cash wrap area
  • maximize resources to fulfill customer needs and resolve any issues
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • foster an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with respect
