Their extensive product assortment covers fashion, apparel, home goods, beauty products, and jewelry, sourced from both national and private brands. Moreover, JCPenney enhances the shopping experience through personal services such as salon, portrait, and optical services. With a dedicated workforce of approximately 50,000 associates spread across more than 650 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, combined with a robust online presence at jcp.com, the company continues to adapt and meet customers where, when, and how they want to shop. In 2022, JCPenney proudly celebrated 120 years of connecting with customers through retail, community engagement, and an unwavering commitment to quality and value.

The Cashier role at JCPenney is crucial to maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring a smooth sales experience. This position involves upholding checkout standards, assisting with general store operations such as omnichannel fulfillment, recovery, inventory, and actively contributing to safety and shrink control initiatives. Cashiers are expected to greet and assist customers warmly, engage enthusiastically, handle returns and re-ticketing, stock impulse fixtures, and promote company programs like rewards and gift cards to enhance sales and customer satisfaction. The role also supports performance standards related to sales, attendance, profit, and productivity.

Cashiers at JCPenney exemplify core competencies such as problem-solving, smart decision-making, accountability, and proactive customer engagement. They are responsible for creating positive, inclusive, and respectful interactions, improving the customer experience continually, and adapting quickly to dynamic retail environments. The position offers a competitive hourly wage range of USD $12.00 to $15.00 and features a comprehensive benefits package for eligible associates, including medical, dental, vision insurance, term life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a 401(k) with company match.
