Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
0-3 years supervisory experience minimum
Customer service skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to handle stressful situations
Basic computer skills required to participate in online training
Compliance with all company policies and procedures
High standard of integrity and reliability
Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check

Job Duties

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to increase customer confidence and loyalty
Listen to and appropriately escalate customer concerns to management with a positive attitude
Stock front end products, restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest supply cost
Manage lane according to service standards
Assist in training new cashiers
Use the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, Reward offers, coupons and checkout procedures according to company policy to record sales
Understand and adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work honestly and effectively to control loss
Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, etc.)
Assist customers in unloading purchases onto the conveyor belt at checkout
Pack customer purchases to prevent damages, carry or push groceries in a shopping cart to the customer’s car and load groceries into the vehicle
Check the price of merchandise in all departments as needed
Collect shopping carts from parking lot and other areas and return to designated area
Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
Adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA, COOL, and DOA regulations
Execute product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions to store management
Notify management of customer or employee accidents
Report all safety risks, illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud
Ensure adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations
Cultivate a culture of safety within the store
Ensure associates receive necessary safety training and use personal protective equipment
Ensure equipment is in good repair and report safety hazards
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
