  • High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals, salads, and a la-carte items
  • prepare entrees, vegetables, and side dishes according to standardized recipes
  • keep accurate documentation of food preparation
  • serve as a cashier to collect money and record sales using a computerized point of sale system
  • follow procedures for exchange and collection of monies and assist in deposit preparation
  • participate in on-the-job training related to federally reimbursable meals and food preparation
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and utensils according to sanitation codes
  • perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning dining areas
  • comply with Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook policies
  • provide effective communication and customer service to students, parents, and staff
  • perform other related duties as assigned
