Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to work independently and as a team member and complete tasks without clear direction
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
- Ability to read interpret and administer detailed instructions and recipes
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff students parents and community
- Ability to lift carry push pull or move objects up to forty pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to use computers scanners copiers and food preparation equipment
Job Qualifications

- Food service experience preferred
- Cashier experience preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare cook and serve meals salads and a la carte items according to standardized recipes and keep accurate documentation of food preparation
- Serve as a cashier in the school cafeteria to collect money and maintain accurate records of sales using a computerized point of sale system
- Follow accurate procedures for the exchange and collection of monies and assist in preparing deposits
- Participate in on-the-job training to understand federally reimbursable meals requirements and food preparation
- Read interpret and follow standardized recipes for food preparation in the cafeteria
- Ensure kitchen area equipment and utensils are kept clean according to sanitation codes and schedules
- Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping mopping floors cleaning tables chairs bathrooms and serving areas
- Comply with policies and procedures in the Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook
- Provide effective communication and customer service to students parents and school system staff
- Perform other related duties as assigned
