Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to perform basic math calculations
Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed instructions and recipes
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Ability to lift and move objects up to forty pounds
Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation codes

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Food service experience preferred
Cashier experience preferred
Strong customer service skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
Effective communication skills both oral and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Understanding of sanitation and safety standards in food service

Job Duties

Prepare, cook, and serve meals, salads, and a la carte items according to standardized recipes
Maintain accurate documentation of food preparation
Operate a computerized point of sale system to collect money and record sales
Follow procedures for money exchange and collection, assist with deposit preparation
Participate in on-the-job training for federally reimbursable meals and food preparation standards
Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, utensils, and dining areas according to sanitation codes
Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of cafeteria and restroom areas
Comply with Wake County Public Schools Child Nutrition Handbook policies
Provide effective communication and customer service to students, parents, and staff
Perform other related duties as assigned
