Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals, salads, and a la carte items according to standardized recipes
  • Keep accurate documentation of food preparation
  • Serve as a cashier in the school cafeteria to collect money and maintain accurate sales records using a computerized point of sale system
  • Follow procedures for money exchange and collection and assist in deposit preparations
  • Participate in on-the-job training for federally reimbursable meals and food preparation requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area, equipment, and utensils according to sanitation codes
  • Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, cleaning tables, chairs, bathrooms, and dining areas
  • Comply with Child Nutrition Handbook policies and procedures
  • Provide effective communication and customer service to students, parents, and school staff
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
