The role of Cashier and Sales Associate at Michaels is a pivotal position focused on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining store appearance and inventory, and ensuring smooth checkout experiences. Responsible for assisting customers in locating merchandise, educating them about Michaels’ rewards programs, and promoting credit card offerings, this role blends sales proficiency with customer interaction skills. Additionally, associates are integral to the store’s operational success by participating in stock replenishment, unloading deliveries, organizing merchandise displays in line with company standards, and supporting omni-channel processes such as Purchase via Web Retrieve in Store and Ship From Outlet techniques. The position demands a high level of physical activity including standing for extended periods, maneuvering throughout the store, performing repetitive tasks, and safely handling large or high-shelf items. Job Requirements

  • be at least sixteen years old
  • meet legal requirements stipulated by federal, state, and local laws
  • ability to stand for long durations without rest
  • physical agility to navigate the store efficiently
  • ability to perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, lifting
  • capability to carry large containers and use ladders safely
  • willingness to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
  • readiness to take on additional tasks as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • background in retail or customer service preferred
  • competence in sales and production aspects of custom framing
  • ability to handle customer interactions positively
  • knowledge of merchandise handling and store recovery
  • understanding of omni-channel retail processes
  • adherence to company policies and standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • team collaboration skills

Job Duties

  • deliver friendly customer service

  • complete truck unloading and merchandise duties including store recovery standards
  • aid buyers in finding products and assist in shopping process
  • educate customers on rewards program and credit card benefits

  • manage merchandise recovery, returns, replenishment, and store maintenance
  • implement inventory optimization strategies
  • follow SOPs and corporate policies

  • perform additional tasks as assigned
