Job Description
The Cheesecake Factory is a renowned leader in experiential dining, named to FORTUNE Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list every year since 2014. As a culinary-forward organization, it is relentlessly focused on hospitality and delivering delicious, memorable experiences created by passionate people. The company owns and operates 353 restaurants across the United States and Canada under several well-known brands, including The Cheesecake Factory, North Italia, and Flower Child. Additionally, it has an international presence with 34 licensed Cheesecake Factory restaurants globally. Beyond its restaurant operations, the company runs two bakery facilities that produce high-quality cheesecakes and other baked goods for its restaurants, international licensees, and third-party customers. The Cheesecake Factory prides itself on an inclusive, welcoming workplace and is committed to fostering a diverse workforce that brings a variety of identities, ideas, perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences to the team. It is an equal opportunity employer providing reasonable accommodations for job applicants with disabilities.
The role of Cashier at The Cheesecake Factory is pivotal in creating a memorable take-out experience for guests. Operating behind the bakery counter in a fast-paced, high-volume, full-service restaurant environment, Cashiers are dedicated, dependable, and hospitality-driven professionals who ensure that every to-go order is handled with care and precision. The primary responsibility involves warmly greeting guests both in person and via phone, answering questions, and facilitating a positive, seamless carry-out experience. Cashiers will utilize menu knowledge to confidently make recommendations and address food allergies, assist guests with the company's app during order placement or pick-up, and accurately input orders using a point-of-sale (POS) system. Efficiency and accuracy in processing payments, including cash handling and credit/debit transactions, are essential, requiring basic math skills and attention to detail.
In addition to order management, Cashiers will pack meals carefully and quickly, maintaining a strong sense of urgency to ensure guest satisfaction. The role also involves supporting teamwork by assisting with dessert finishing, barista tasks, and beverage preparation, including espresso drinks. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the cashier and take-out areas is crucial, along with completing closing tasks and sidework consistently and with ownership. The position demands working well under pressure while maintaining a positive, patient attitude. This role offers steady hours with flexible scheduling options for full-time or part-time work, competitive hourly pay ranging from $15.00 to $21.25, and numerous benefits aimed at supporting employee well-being and growth.
Working at The Cheesecake Factory means access to world-class training programs designed to foster personal and professional development, alongside career advancement opportunities with over half of management positions filled internally. Employees receive paid vacation, sick time, and medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage with medical plans starting as low as $12 per pay period. Added perks include virtual care, free online mental health services, shift meal discounts, employee recognition programs, and opportunities to engage with the community through charity events. The company culture emphasizes mutual respect, inclusivity, and a shared passion for hospitality, making the Cashier role a rewarding gateway into a dynamic and supportive workplace.
