Job Description
Floor & Decor is a leading specialty retailer in the home improvement sector, focusing on hard surface flooring and related accessories. Established with a mission to offer a vast selection of premium-quality products at competitive prices, Floor & Decor has earned its reputation by providing excellent customer service and solutions tailored to individual project needs. The company operates large warehouse-style stores that boast extensive inventory, making it convenient for customers to find everything they need for their flooring projects in one place. With a dedicated team of associates committed to maintaining high standards and a welcoming shopping environment, Floor & Decor continues to grow and innovate in a competitive retail landscape.
The role of Cashier, also known as Customer Service Associate, at Floor & Decor is crucial as it represents the first and last point of contact for customers within the store. Cashiers carry the responsibility of delivering exceptional customer experiences that go beyond mere transactions. They greet each customer warmly, engage them about their home improvement projects, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on products that best fit their needs. This role demands a friendly, enthusiastic, honest, and hardworking individual who can uphold the company’s core values and safety compliance while interacting with customers.
Cashiers at Floor & Decor manage the checkout process efficiently using the point of sale (POS) system, handle product returns and exchanges according to established guidelines, and ensure accuracy in all payment methods including cash, checks, and credit cards. Beyond transactional duties, associates contribute to maintaining the store’s visual appeal by stocking, tagging, and displaying merchandise neatly and creating price tags and merchandise signs as required. Working conditions involve being in a warehouse environment with occasional exposure to moving vehicles and moderate noise levels. The physical demands include the ability to lift and move objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds, and performing tasks that may require standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and bending.
Employment with Floor & Decor is offered on both full-time and part-time bases, and the pay rate ranges from $19.39 to $23.40 per hour. The company is committed to providing career advancement opportunities and rewarding hard work with potential bonuses. Associates receive numerous benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, a 401k plan with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, and paid time off including vacations, holidays, sick days, and volunteer time off starting from day one. Floor & Decor practices an inclusive hiring policy, ensuring equal employment opportunities without discrimination and offers reasonable accommodations as required by law.
Joining Floor & Decor as a Cashier means becoming part of a dynamic team dedicated to customer satisfaction and professional growth. Whether working full-time or part-time, associates benefit from a supportive work environment that values diversity, honesty, and hard work, making it an excellent opportunity for those passionate about retail and customer service to advance their careers.
