As a Cashier at Sodexo within the University of Southern Maine, you will primarily be responsible for managing retail transactions using cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • Must be able to operate a cash register or POS system
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Must comply with state-specific alcohol service training if serving alcohol
  • Must attend scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Open availability preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • If applicable, must be of legal age to serve alcohol and have required certifications
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Operate a cash register or equivalent to receive payments from customers or employees
