The Cashier/Checker role is pivotal in delivering high-quality service to customers at the point of sale. Cashier/Checkers also enforce guidelines related to restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco, report pricing issues, stay updated with current promotions and advertisements, and comply with food safety regulations.
Additionally, employees in this role contribute to the safety culture by identifying unsafe conditions and notifying management, performing preventive maintenance checks, and adhering to local, state, and federal laws and company policies. They manage conflicts professionally, act with integrity regarding business information, and offer assistance to special populations such as minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults, ensuring all customers receive attentive and respectful service. The role demands physical ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodations and adaptability to work in high-energy and sometimes stressful situations.

Job Qualifications

- Previous work as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk desired
Job Duties

- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with seasonal and special promotions
- Comply with all food safety regulations
- Identify and report unsafe conditions
- Inspect equipment and notify management for repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines
