One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
Good verbal communication skills

Job Duties

Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons
Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
Understand use of check-stand equipment such as register, scanner, scale, belts and operate efficiently
Responsible for front-end duties such as merchandising newspapers, periodicals, candy
Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs and report errors in pricing or signage
Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
Communicate company programs, in-store specials and coupons to customers and model high standards of service
Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, sale of alcohol and tobacco products
Maintain a clean and well-stocked department complying with safety and sanitation procedures
May assist with stocking items
Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
Follow guest experience guidelines
May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
