The role of a Head Cashier is pivotal within our front-end team, serving as both a frontline customer service expert and a supportive leader to other Cashiers. The Head Cashier ensures accuracy and safety in all financial transactions, including Checkout, Return processes, and the monitoring of Self-Checkout areas. This role also involves supporting Cashiers by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions, markdowns, and managing various registers such as Mainline, Self-Checkout, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
A successful Head Cashier is proactive in acquiring product and project knowledge to better assist customers and identify selling opportunities. Leadership skills are crucial, as the individual will participate in coaching and training new and existing Cashiers, utilizing all available resources to foster professional development. This position demands a minimum of one year of Cashier experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong dedication to customer satisfaction. The Head Cashier acts as the first level of escalation for customer issues, ensuring swift and effective problem resolution. This role is essential in maintaining smooth store operations and enhancing the overall shopping experience for our customers.
