Job Duties
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the checkout lane
- Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and work effectively to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Comply with established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, coupons, and stay current with promotional ads and offers
- Adhere to food safety regulations and reinforce safety procedures
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to management
- Inspect equipment and notify appropriate personnel for repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
- Follow all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
