The Cashier role is essential to our retail operations, serving as the frontline interaction point for our valued customers. In this position, Cashiers are responsible for delivering fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service during checkout and return transactions. The role also includes supervising and maintaining the Self-Checkout area to ensure an efficient and hassle-free shopping experience. Beyond transactional duties, Cashiers are encouraged to proactively acquire product knowledge to better assist customers, answer their questions, and identify opportunities to enhance sales. Furthermore, Cashiers adhere strictly to company policies to minimize product loss and protect company assets.
Advancing into the Head Cashier position involves greater responsibility, including supervising and supporting other Cashiers during daily operations. A Head Cashier facilitates smooth workflows by positioning Cashiers effectively and providing assistance with price checks, approving point-of-sale transactions, markdowns, and managing multiple service areas such as Returns, the Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This role also acts as the first point of escalation for customer concerns, thereby playing a key role in resolving issues promptly and effectively. Additionally, Head Cashiers contribute to the professional development of the front-end team by coaching, mentoring, and assisting with new employee training. The preferred candidate for a Head Cashier has over one year of experience in a Cashier role, demonstrating strong leadership potential and a commitment to exceptional service.

Job Requirements

- Minimum 1 year cashier experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail

Job Duties
- Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe customer service during checkout and return transactions
- Monitor and maintain the self-checkout area for efficiency and safety
- Seek product and project knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities
- Follow company policies and procedures to minimize shrink
- Position cashiers and support them by expediting price checks and approving point-of-sale transactions and markdowns
- Provide first level escalation for customer issues
- Assist in the supervision, coaching and training of front end associates and new cashiers
