Job Description

The Head Cashier role is a step above the regular Cashier position and entails additional responsibilities including supervising front-end associates, expediting price checks, and approving Point of Sale transactions such as markdowns and returns. A Head Cashier is also responsible for managing the Self-Checkout area, handling first-level customer escalations, and playing a vital role in training and coaching new Cashiers. Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
minimum 1 year cashier experience
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
basic math skills
ability to use point of sale technology
strong attention to detail
good teamwork skills

excellent customer service skills
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to train and coach others

Job Duties

process checkout and return transactions
monitor and maintain the self-checkout area
seek product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify sales opportunities
position cashiers and support mainline registers and special service areas
expedite price checks and approve transactions and markdowns
provide first-level escalation for customer issues
assist in the supervision, coaching, and training of other front end associates
