Job Description
The Head Cashier role is a step above the regular Cashier position and entails additional responsibilities including supervising front-end associates, expediting price checks, and approving Point of Sale transactions such as markdowns and returns. A Head Cashier is also responsible for managing the Self-Checkout area, handling first-level customer escalations, and playing a vital role in training and coaching new Cashiers. This position requires someone with at least one year of experience as a Cashier and a strong understanding of retail operations and customer service standards. The Head Cashier is instrumental in maintaining the overall efficiency and smooth operation of the checkout area while supporting a team environment. This position not only requires excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills but also demands a proactive approach toward minimizing store shrinkage and identifying sales opportunities. Job Requirements
