The role available is for a Head Cashier, which is a supervisory and customer service-oriented position within the retail front-end operations. The Head Cashier is responsible for leading the cashier team by ensuring all checkout and return transactions are processed quickly, accurately, and safely. This position also involves maintaining oversight of the Self-Checkout area to support smooth and efficient customer flow. As a leader among cashiers, the Head Cashier supports associates by expediting price checks and approving point of sale transactions, markdowns, and returns. This role requires proactive engagement with customers by providing product and project knowledge to enhance the customer experience and identify additional selling opportunities.

Additionally, the Head Cashier acts as a first-level escalation point for customer service issues, providing solutions and guidance when more complex concerns arise. This supervisory role includes coaching and training responsibilities to foster the development and performance of the cashier team through participation in new hire training and ongoing coaching. Maintaining adherence to all company policies and procedures to reduce shrink and losses is a critical part of this role. The ideal candidate typically possesses over one year of cashier experience and demonstrates leadership qualities that contribute to a positive and productive front-end team environment. Through effective leadership and commitment to exceptional customer service, the Head Cashier ensures operational excellence and customer satisfaction at the checkout areas.

Job Duties

  • process checkout and return transactions

  • assist in supervision, coaching, and training of front end associates
  • participate in the training of new cashiers and utilize tools to coach and develop staff
