The role of Cashier / Guest Service Representative (GSR) at Boudin Bakeries is a vital position, serving as the first and primary point of contact for guests in our store. We seek individuals who enjoy interacting with the public and possess a friendly and outgoing personality. The ideal candidate consistently delivers exceptional customer service and maintains a positive attitude when engaging with customers and team members alike. Cashier experience is welcome but not mandatory, as we value a strong commitment to service and a willingness to learn above all.
As a Cashier at Boudin Bakeries, you will be responsible for creating excellent service experiences for our customers by representing the brand positively and professionally. Your duties will include operating registers, scanners, scales, and credit/debit card terminals accurately and efficiently. You will need to memorize product locations throughout the store to assist customers effectively by providing directions or product suggestions. Handling customer exchanges and refunds swiftly and courteously is also an essential part of the role.
You will ensure that each interaction reflects the quality and care embodied by Boudin, providing prompt service and maintaining high standards for product quality. Maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable environment within the store is critical to fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Additionally, you will uphold all operational standards to ensure smooth and consistent store performance.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.90 to $17.00, complemented by participation in a tip pool with an average additional $2 to $4+ per hour. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous customer service or cashier experience preferred but not required
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to memorize store layout and product locations
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Job Qualifications
- A strong commitment to excellent customer service and food quality
- A knack for providing top-notch interactive service to customers
- Positive, helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately
- Previous experience in a restaurant or bakery preferred but not required
- Previous experience in a retail store or as a cashier beneficial
