The employee is expected to process various service transactions including credit cards, manufacturer coupons, and sales related to alcohol, tobacco, and lottery products. Rigorous adherence to city, county, state, and federal laws governing store operations is mandatory.
In addition to customer-facing tasks, the employee performs food preparation duties, including preparing hot food items, brewing coffee, and maintaining condiment stations. The position also requires maintaining a clean and organized physical retail space, including cleaning floors, restrooms, registers, and other store equipment. Stock management involves receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, rotating perishable products, and ensuring merchandise presentation is appealing and neat.
Safety is a critical aspect of this role. Employees must uphold safety standards to protect themselves and everyone in the store, following company protocols on emergency procedures, robbery and violence prevention, and general safety guidelines. This includes positioning safety cones, maintaining clear entrances, and managing spill hazards.
The role extends to supporting sales initiatives such as promotional campaigns and suggestive selling strategies. Employees are expected to actively engage in building customer relations and contributing to the store's sales goals.
Work environment demands physical stamina as staff must be able to stand or walk for entire shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and pushing/pulling objects.

Job Qualifications

- Open availability to work all shifts as needed at home store and other stores within district when the need arises
Job Duties
- Take measures to preserve the safety of employees and others in the work location
- Operate POS (cash register and fuel console) and accurately manage money and payments
- Enter all transactions into the register and conduct sales transactions quickly and precisely
- Perform service transactions such as credit card processing, coupon redemption, vendor check-in, and sales of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery according to policy
- Check identification for restricted products in compliance with company policy
- Actively participate in sales promotions and campaigns
- Practice suggestive selling and build customer relations
- Review and adhere to all legal regulations affecting store operations
- Maintain a neat personal appearance and wear company uniform
- Prepare hot food items and maintain food service areas as designated
- Ensure store cleanliness inside and out and proper equipment sanitation
- Sweep floors, mop as needed, and clean water spills
- Wipe down fuel delivery area, pumps, and maintain exterior cleanliness
- Restock and spot check restrooms frequently
- Perform regular cleaning of counters, equipment, trash removal, and other duties as assigned
- Dust merchandise and maintain organized backroom supplies
- Receive, sort, and stock product deliveries using proper lift techniques
- Replenish merchandise to avoid empty shelves
- Conduct daily inspections of perishable products for freshness
- Follow company safety policies including robbery and emergency procedures
- Serve as backup cashier during barista shifts, performing sales transactions
- Brew fresh coffee regularly, maintain condiment bar, and monitor food availability
- Perform deep cleaning duties during night shifts
- Prepare the store for morning rush by ensuring coffee and equipment readiness.
