Job Description
The hiring establishment is a well-established retail store operating within the retail sector, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe, clean, and friendly environment for customers and employees alike. This company prides itself on following corporate standards meticulously and prioritizes the safety and well-being of its team members while fostering a collaborative work culture. The store operates with a full-time employment model and offers hourly compensation, providing employees with stable work hours and remunerations. This retail location is focused on both front-end customer service and behind-the-scenes operational tasks that support a smooth shopping experience for patrons. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring individuals who can multitask effectively while adhering to company policies and procedures. Employees routinely interact with customers, handle transactions, prepare food items, and ensure the store remains neat and organized throughout their shifts.
The role offered is a full-time retail associate position reporting directly to the Store Manager. This role is not a managerial position but plays a vital part in day-to-day store operations. The employee is expected to provide top-tier customer service aligning with G&M corporate standards and to work cooperatively with team members to maintain a welcoming atmosphere. The position requires proficiency in operating the POS system, including managing cash register and fuel console transactions accurately and efficiently. Attention to detail in transaction processing is critical, including handling credit card sales, manufacturer coupon redemptions, vendor check-ins, and sales of age-restricted products such as alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets, along with fast-food sales.
In addition to customer-facing duties, the associate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store. Duties include sweeping, mopping, sanitizing equipment, cleaning the fuel delivery area, maintaining restrooms, stocking shelves, receiving product deliveries, and organizing backroom supplies. Food preparation tasks are part of the responsibilities when designated by the Store Manager, which includes brewing fresh coffee, monitoring food availability, and maintaining condiment bars. Safety compliance with city, county, state, and federal laws, as well as company policies on robbery and violence prevention, is crucial in this position.
Working varied shifts, including night shifts, the associate must be flexible and prepared to perform deep cleaning tasks and ensure readiness for busy periods such as morning rushes. The role demands physical capabilities such as lifting, standing for extended periods, bending, and utilizing hand trucks for moving merchandise. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have open availability to work across different shifts and stores within the district, and possess excellent interpersonal and computer skills. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package inclusive of employer-paid medical plans, life insurance, dental and vision insurance, medical assistance, and a 401(k) plan, supporting the overall well-being and financial security of its employees.
